AAA Editor Notes
North Platte State Fish Hatchery is 1 mi. s. on US 83, then .5 mi. e. to 444 E. State Farm Rd. Northern pike, walleye and white bass are raised from eggs at the hatchery. After hatching, the fry are placed in ponds where they grow to the desired size. Channel catfish are brought to the hatchery's ponds as fry. When the fish are full-grown, they are released back into the wild.

The best time to see the eggs hatch is from late March through May.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 15 minutes minimum.
