Ravalli County Museum, 205 Bedford St., is in the original Ravalli County Courthouse, which once served as the meeting spot for social and political activity in the Bitter Root Valley. The museum includes a collection of Native American artifacts, a miner and trapper exhibit, a display about the Lewis and Clark Expedition, a natural history room, and historical photographs and newspapers. A Walk Through Bitter Root is a period room that depicts life in the valley during the late 1800s; rotating exhibits, events and educational programs are offered throughout the year.
