AAA Editor Notes
Laclede's Landing is on the riverfront between the Eads and Martin Luther King bridges. The renovated turn-of-the-20th-century buildings and cobblestone streets of this nine-block historic district—the site of the city's original settlement—are filled with bars, nightclubs, restaurants and offices.

The Eads Bridge, at the foot of Washington Avenue, was built in 1874. It was the first major railroad bridge across the Mississippi and the first to utilize steel truss construction. This mighty structure carries pedestrian, bicycle, motor vehicle and light rail traffic across the river, offering an unparalleled view of the Gateway Arch en route.

A self-guiding walking tour brochure is available from the Laclede's Landing Neighborhood Association, 710 N. Second St., Suite 310-N; the office is open daily 9:30-4:30.
