The Wyeth-Tootle Mansion

The Wyeth-Tootle Mansion is at 11th and Charles sts. Overlooking the Missouri River, this 1879 Gothic sandstone mansion was designed with a north side turret to create a resemblance to European castles. It is one of many turn-of-the-20th-century residences in the city and has ornate walnut woodwork and staircases and stained-glass windows. The first floor is furnished in period, with oil-on-canvas paintings on the ceilings, and displays photographs of the home taken in the early 1900s, while exhibits on the upper floors impart local history.
