Audrain County Historical Society and American Saddle Horse Museum is at 501 S. Muldrow St. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant visited the 1857 Graceland house during the early days of the Civil War. The house's second owner, Colby T. Quisenberry, brought the first saddle horses into Audrain County from Kentucky. Rooms are furnished in period. The museum traces the role played by Audrain County in the development of the saddle horse.
Included are a parlor and a bedroom that has original Currier and Ives prints. Old wedding dresses and a large doll collection also are displayed. A country schoolhouse also is on the grounds.
