Grand Gulf Military Park

Grand Gulf Military Park is 7 mi. n.w. across the Bayou Pierre Bridge. The site of the shelling of Confederate forts Cobun and Wade by Union ironclad gunboats, the 400-acre park contains the forts, a cemetery, an observation tower and several restored buildings. A museum in the visitor center displays photographs, scale models and items commemorating local history.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
