AAA Editor Notes
Rowan Oak is .5 mi. s. of the town square on Old Taylor Rd. Once the home of William C. Faulkner, the white clapboard house is where the Nobel Prize-winning author wrote most of his works. Faulkner bought and restored Rowan Oak in 1930. The two-story house has been preserved to look as it did at the time of Faulkner's death. The plot outline of his novel “A Fable” is scribbled on the walls.
