Monmouth

Monmouth is at 1358 John A. Quitman Blvd. Gen. John Quitman, a Mexican War hero, Mississippi governor and U.S. Congressman, bought this mansion in 1826. The 1818 home stands on 26 landscaped acres and is furnished with period and original Quitman pieces. Now a small luxury hotel with gardens, the house can be visited by guided tour only.
