North American Bear Center

North American Bear Center is 1 mi. w. at 1926 SR 169. Three resident black bears live in a 2-acre, naturally forested enclosure, and visitors can watch them go about their daily business from an indoor viewing area or an outdoor observation deck. Video exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities provide information about bear body language, vocalizations and other behaviors, emphasizing education to dispel myths and present facts about these animals. A video camera records the day-to-day activities of Lily, one of the bears, and her cub.
