J.C. Hormel Nature Center

J.C. Hormel Nature Center is .2 mi. n. off I-90 exit 180B at 1304 21st St. N.E. It provides hands-on activities such as bone, flower, animal track and bird identification and also has living displays. Within more than 500 acres of hardwood and pine forests and restored prairie are over 10 miles of trails suitable for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Canoes and kayaks can be rented to explore Dobbins Creek and an on-site pond. Staff experts conduct wildflower hikes, cider pressing demonstrations, maple syrup gathering, monarch butterfly tagging and bird banding on a seasonal basis.
