Original Soo Locks Boat Tours

Original Soo Locks Boat Tours departs from the docks at 1157 E. Portage Ave. Two-hour narrated tours take visitors through the Soo Locks and alongside giant ships. A narrator explains the operation and the history of the locks, St. Marys Rapids, the waterfronts of the Michigan and Ontario cities of Sault Ste. Marie that face each other across the St. Marys River, Essar Steel Plant and other sights. Luncheon cruises with a locks tour also are available. A sunset dinner cruise along the St. Marys River (including a locks tour) is available. A lighthouse cruise passes U.S. and Canadian lighthouses in Whitefish Bay.
