Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum
AAA Editor Notes
Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum, 1680 Martin St., is home to the USS Edson, which was active for 30 years and primarily stationed in the Pacific before being decommissioned in 1988. Tour guides, many of whom are retired members of the Navy, explain what the day-to-day operations of the ship were and take guests on an extensive tour of the vessel—from sleeping quarters to the deck. Nautical and Edson-related exhibits can be seen.
Note: The interior quarters of the ship are very cramped and include narrow stairways.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
