Saginaw Bay Visitor Center is 3 mi. n. in Bay City State Recreation Area. Permanent and changing exhibits depict life in the wetlands. A 15-minute multimedia presentation about wetlands development is offered. The paved Frank N. Anderson Nature Trail leads to Tobico Marsh, a 1,700-acre refuge for more than 100 species of birds and migratory waterfowl. Nature trails, observation towers and a boardwalk are included. The wetlands also contain a fishing pier. Visitors can walk to the marsh from the center, which offers a bird observation room and a wet lab.
