Sandy Bay Historical Society and Museum

Sandy Bay Historical Society and Museum, 40 King St. in the Sewall-Scripture House, contains Early American and Victorian rooms, a marine room, a children's room, a military room, a library of genealogy and local history, fishing relics and full-rigged ship models. Additional items also are displayed. The Old Castle, nearby at Curtis and Granite streets, is a saltbox house built about 1711. Self-guiding tours of the house highlight historical items, including granite quarry tools.
