Arrowhead

Arrowhead, 780 Holmes Rd., was the 13-year residence of author Herman Melville. In 1851 Melville completed “Moby Dick” here. Original inscriptions from the story “I and My Chimney” are on the fireplace. The house is furnished with 19th-century items, many belonging to the Melvilles. The site also hosts seasonal exhibitions and special events.
