Old Mill, 50 Prospect St., is a Nantucket Historical Association historic site. Time spent in Holland inspired Nathan Wilbur, a local sailor, to build the mill in 1746. Today it is the oldest mill in operation in the country, as well as the last of Nantucket's four “smock mills,” a type of windmill that is usually octagonal in shape, with a sloping tower.
