Appleton Farms is at 4 Waldingfield Rd. Founded in 1636, it is one of the oldest continuously operating farms in the country. Featuring historical structures and foot and equestrian trails, the 1,000-acre site is home to such grazing livestock as Jersey cows, goats and sheep. Hands-on exhibits and activities for kids are available in the Carriage Barn, while the Old House Visitor Center features a research library and educational displays.
