MIT Chapel

MIT Chapel is on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's west campus at 48 Rear Massachusetts Ave. Noted architect Eero Saarinen designed the cylindrical brick structure in 1955; the aluminum bell tower is by sculptor Theodore Roszak. A shallow moat surrounds the windowless building, and the bottom of the cylinder is penetrated by irregular arches through which light reflected from the moat plays on the interior walls.

One-hour concerts featuring everything from Renaissance to contemporary music are offered some months.
