Longfellow's Wayside Inn is .2 mi. w. off US 20 at 72 Wayside Inn Rd. Made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's book of poems “Tales of a Wayside Inn,” it is one of the country's oldest operating inns. Refurbished by Henry Ford in the 1920s, the inn features period display rooms and an 18th-century tavern. Also on the 120-acre site are the Martha-Mary Chapel; country gardens; a water-powered gristmill; and the 1798 Redstone Schoolhouse, which was made famous by the nursery rhyme “Mary Had A Little Lamb.”
