Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary and Nature Center

Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary and Nature Center, 4 mi. s.w. via SRs 2/4 and 506, then s. on Gray's Rd., contains one of the nation's northernmost stands of bald cypress trees, which range from 75 to more than 500 years old. An elevated quarter-mile boardwalk angles through part of the swamp. A nature center contains natural and cultural history exhibits, including animals native to the area. Films, demonstrations and programs are scheduled throughout the year.
