NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Visitor Center is off I-95/495 exit 22A, 2.1 mi. e. on SR 193 (Greenbelt Rd.), then .2 mi. n. on Icesat Rd., following signs to the visitor center. The center offers programs, special events and presentations pertaining to the nation's space program.
Exhibits in the Earth Science and Space Science galleries, the Solarium exhibit exploring the surface of the sun, a full-size engineering model of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and the outdoor Rocket Garden—which is a collection of sounding rockets, full-size mock-ups, a robotic rover, exhibits about the search for life in the universe and an Astrobiology Walk—are open to the public.
Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
