National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes

National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes is 3 mi. s. on SR 15 to 16330 Grotto Rd., on the campus of Mount St. Mary's University. The shrine, a replica of the Grotto of Lourdes in France, was established by Father John DuBois in 1805. Visitors should begin their visit at the visitors center, which features artifacts and historical exhibits as well as maps for self-guiding tours.
Paved walkways wind through landscaped gardens containing stone and copper Stations of the Cross, mosaic murals depicting the Mysteries of the Rosary, a bronze statue of Mary and a campanile with Westminster chimes.
