Tate House Museum is 2 mi. w. on SR 22/9 at 1267 Westbrook St. in Stroudwater. In keeping with his importance as mast agent for the British Crown, George Tate built this Georgian Colonial house with indented gambrel roof in 1755. The house features 18th-century furnishings. Tour themes include 18th-century gardening techniques, architectural design and Colonial history.
