Downeast Scenic Railroad

Downeast Scenic Railroad, departing from 245 Main St., offers a scenic 10-mile round-trip excursion on the historical Calais Branch line. From railcars pulled by a 1948 diesel-powered locomotive, passengers view forests, wetlands and lakes and often spot such wildlife as beavers, deer, moose, herons and osprey. The trip lasts about 90 minutes.
