Mount Desert Oceanarium Bar Harbor

Mount Desert Oceanarium Bar Harbor, 8.5 mi. w. to 1351 SR 3, includes the Maine Lobster Museum and the Oceanarium Lobster Hatchery. The museum features net-making demonstrations and a visit aboard a lobster boat; a lobster expert is on site to answer questions. At the hatchery, visitors can examine fry via a microscope linked to a television monitor. The Discovery Pool is a touch tank containing local marine life. A 45-minute marsh walk is offered.
