Abbe Museum Downtown is downtown at 26 Mount Desert St. Permanent and changing exhibits devoted to Maine's Native American heritage grace the galleries. Exhibits focus on the cultures, history, art and archeology of the Wabanaki people—members of the Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, Micmac and Maliseet tribes—who live in Maine today. The Wabanaki also includes several bands of the Abenaki tribe, located primarily in New Hampshire, Vermont and Québec.
