City Park

City Park is at the n. end of Esplanade Ave. The 1,300-acre municipal park is one of the largest in the country. The park contains the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, New Orleans Botanical Garden, New Orleans Museum of Art, Storyland and the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. There also are scenic lagoons; hiking and biking trails; NOLA City Bark dog park; and disc golf, golf, tennis and picnic facilities on the grounds. Pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and rowboats can be rented.

Fishing is allowed with a permit. A permit also is required for the dog park.

Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
