Hopewell Museum, downtown at 800 Pleasant St., is in the town’s 1909 Beaux Arts post office. Permanent and changing exhibits focus on local history and regional fine arts. Civil War memorabilia and an exhibit about Garrett Morgan, a local African American who invented the tri-color traffic light and the gas mask, are among the permanent exhibits, as is a heritage learning center for children.
