Mother of God Church

Mother of God Church is at 119 W. 6th St.; use the entrance between the church and the rectory. The Italian Renaissance-style church, built 1870-71, is enhanced by stained-glass windows imported from Bavaria in 1890 and five murals created by parishioner Johann Schmitt, some of whose works are in the Vatican.
