Exploration Place

Exploration Place, at 300 N. McLean Blvd., has hands-on exhibits exploring such topics as flight, medieval life, health and Kansas. Changing exhibits also are featured. In Design Build Fly, a completely renovated 5,100 square-foot aviation exhibit gallery, encounter dozens of hands-on activities that reveal what happens behind-the-scenes in Wichita's aircraft plants. Featuring a three-story stone castle, the Where Kids Rule area gives children the opportunity to launch a catapult or build a bridge across a moat. In the Kansas Kids Connect, children can plant a garden, fix a tractor, climb through the Earth's layers and nestle inside a giant meadowlark nest.

In the newly updated Digital Dome Theater and Planetarium digitally produced shows are presented on a 60-foot, 360-degree screen. A playground and recreation paths are offered at the outdoor Exploration Park during summer.
