C.W. Parker Carousel Museum

C.W. Parker Carousel Museum is .5 mi. e. on Springdale St./Spruce St. (SR 92), .4 mi. n. on S. 4th St., .2 mi. e. on Choctaw St., then just n. to 320 S. Esplanade St. across from the riverfront. The museum offers artifacts and photographs depicting the work of carnival pioneer and carousel builder C.W. Parker. Guided tours explore the museum and a workshop area at which existing antique horses and carousel figures are repaired and refinished. Tours conclude with a ride on a 1913 Parker wooden carousel, one of three refurbished full-size carousels displayed.
