Red Rocks State Historic Site is at 927 Exchange St. Exhibits in the visitor center detail the life of William Allen White, editor and publisher of the Emporia Gazette. The stone Tudor-style house where he lived for 45 years is furnished with the White family’s personal belongings, including a bed in which Theodore Roosevelt once slept. A garden and a lily pond also are on the grounds.
