Guadalajara Zoo

Guadalajara Zoo (Zoológico de Guadalajara) is about 6 km (4 mi.) n. of Plaza Tapatía at the junction of Calzada Independencia Norte and Paseo del Zoológico. Overlooking Huentitan Canyon, it contains a variety of large mammals, reptiles, monkeys and birds, including brightly colored toucans and macaws. A train and well-marked footpaths traverse the major viewing areas. There also is a children's petting zoo.

Next to the zoo is a planetarium and the Selva Mágica amusement park, which has a pool with performing dolphins. Parking is provided.
