DeSoto Visitor Center

DeSoto Visitor Center is at 1434 316th Ln. Cultural and natural-history exhibits pertain to the Missouri River Valley. More than 200,000 rotating artifacts from the wreckage of the 1865 stern-wheeler Bertrand include groceries and mining supplies; interpretive signs explain the excavation and discovery of the wreck. Complementing wildlife exhibits that feature migratory waterfowl and other animals common to the refuge, viewing galleries overlook DeSoto Lake.
