Dyer-Botsford Historical House & Doll Museum is at 331 1st Ave. E. The renovated dwelling was built by James Dyer, founder of Dyersville. Rooms are furnished with period antiques and decorated with Victorian wallpaper. Posed amid old buggies, tables, cradles and toys, a collection of more than 2,000 dolls includes likenesses of John Wayne, Shirley Temple and Marilyn Monroe. A revolving 1912 feather tree is decorated with German, Polish and Czech ornaments. A genealogical library is located across the street at 340 1st Ave. E.
