Hoyt Sherman Place

Hoyt Sherman Place is at 1501 Woodland Ave. This 1877 Victorian mansion is decorated with elaborate carved woodwork and wainscoting, stenciling, marble fireplaces and brass chandeliers. It is furnished with antiques and decorative items of the era. An art gallery, a wing added in 1907, features a collection of 19th- and 20th-century artworks. The domed ceiling of the 1923 theater features rococo-style plasterwork.

Special events and musical performances are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available by appointment.
