Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden is off I-235 E. 6th St./Penn Ave. exit following signs to 909 Robert D. Ray Dr. Within the site's geodesic dome are more than 1,750 species of plants, including seasonal flowers and a bonsai collection. Fourteen acres of outdoor gardens include walking paths and a waterfall. Horticultural staff are available to answer questions.

Reservations are required 2 weeks in advance for guided tours (minimum 10 people). Special events are offered. Food is available Tues.-Sun. 11-2.
