Grissom Air Museum is 6 mi. s. on US 31 to 1000 W. Hoosier Blvd., next to Grissom Air Reserve Base. More than 20 historic aircraft dating from World War II to the present include a B-17 Flying Fortress, a C-47, a B-25 flown in the movie Catch-22 and an F-100 Super Sabre once flown by Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong. Visitors can sit in the cockpits of a Phantom jet and a Huey helicopter or climb a five-story observation tower. Displays include aviation equipment, armaments, uniforms, flight trainers, photographs, models, survival gear, engines, original art and war prizes.
