Mounds State Park

Mounds State Park is 2 mi. e. of SR 9 on SR 232 at 4306 Mounds Rd. The 290-acre park preserves ancient earthworks built by the Adena and Hopewell peoples around 150 B.C. A nature center houses cultural and natural exhibits as well as interactive displays for children and adults. Animal displays include live reptiles and amphibians and a wildlife pond. Marked walking trails traverse scenic areas of the park, including the largest formation, the Great Mound.
