Shelby County Courthouse

Shelby County Courthouse is at E. Main and Washington sts. The 1879 Victorian-Gothic courthouse, across the street from the site where the Lincoln-Thornton debate occurred, contains paintings of the debate and historically significant people. A restored courtroom downstairs contains oak furnishings similar to those used in the 1800s.
