Spring Valley Nature Center & Heritage Farm

Spring Valley Nature Center & Heritage Farm, .25 mi. w. of Meacham Rd. at 1111 E. Schaumburg Rd., is a 135-acre nature preserve that provides habitats for a variety of plants, birds and other wildlife. The Vera Meineke Nature Center is a visitor center that offers a natural history library, interactive and seasonal exhibits, and a Backyard for Wildlife display. Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground, an outdoor creative play area for children, offers natural play and climbing structures (weather permitting). Heritage Farm, an 1880s living-history farm, also is on the grounds. Horse-drawn wagon rides are offered weekends in summer. There are 3.5 miles of pedestrian nature trails throughout the preserve.

Bicycling and pets are not permitted.
