National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown

National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown, 4 mi. w. of I-94 on SR 176 (W. Park Ave.), honors the life of Conventual Franciscan priest and Polish saint Maximilian Kolbe. Holocaust exhibits and mosaics depict his charitable life and sacrifice in a German concentration camp during World War II. A Eucharistic adoration chapel contains stained glass patterned after the St. Paul Outside-the-Walls church in Rome.
