Lewis and Clark Canoe Camp

Lewis and Clark Canoe Camp, 4 mi. w. on US 12, is part of the Nez Perce National Historical Park. After crossing the Bitterroot Mountains on horseback, Meriwether Lewis' and William Clark's expedition camped here and built five dugout canoes for the remainder of their journey to the Pacific Ocean.
