Morrison Knudsen Nature Center

Morrison Knudsen Nature Center is 2.5 mi. off I-84 exit 54 (Broadway Ave.); cross the Boise River, turn e. onto Park Blvd. then head .5 mi. e. to 600 S. Walnut St., following signs. This 4.5-acre area features a sampling of Idaho's ecosystems. Walking trails pass a mountain stream with logjams and waterfalls, a wetlands pond and a high desert plain with sagebrush and lava rock. Along the way are plants and wildlife indigenous to each area. Windows along the stream walk offer “face-to-fish” viewing opportunities and lessons on stream ecology.

The visitor center features exhibits and offers educational programs.
