Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site & Archives, 553 S. King St., connects the story of the American Protestant missionaries and their descendants to the history and culture of Hawai‘i. The site, accessible by guided tour, consists of three mission houses that served as homes and workplaces for the first missionaries. Ka Hale Lā‘au is the oldest wood-frame house in the state. The 1831 Chamberlain House, built of coral blocks, was used as a home and storehouse, and the Ka Hale Pa‘i functioned as the printing office.

Guided tours are available. Food is available.
