Thurston Lava Tube

Thurston Lava Tube is on the east side of Crater Rim Dr. within Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. From the parking area (often crowded with tour buses), you'll embark on an easy 15- to 20-minute self-guiding walk along a loop trail that starts in the ‘ōhi‘a forest and continues through this impressive cave-like lava tube.

Restrooms and drinking fountains are available at the trailhead.
