Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum

Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum, 305 W. Central Ave., has photographs, documents and memorabilia reflecting the development of Valdosta and the surrounding area. Period clothing, antique handworks, and city directories dating from 1904 are displayed along with an exhibit about John Henry “Doc” Holliday, who lived in the area in his youth. Temporary exhibits and a genealogical library also are available.
