The University of Georgia Marine Education Center & Aquarium

The University of Georgia Marine Education Center & Aquarium, on Skidaway Island at 30 Ocean Science Cir., features saltwater aquariums displaying local marine life with additional exhibits focusing on the ecology, marine science, archeology and fossils of the coastal region. A touch tank lets visitors interact with marine invertebrates. A self-guiding nature trail and boardwalk winds through maritime forest and salt marsh ecosystems. The 680-acre property, formerly portions of two plantations, is shared with the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography.
