Atlanta Botanical Garden is adjacent to Midtown's Piedmont Park at 1345 Piedmont Ave. N.E. (MARTA: Arts Center station). Among the garden's features are a 600-foot-long Canopy Walk through the treetops, an Edible Garden complete with outdoor kitchen, and woodland shade, parterre, Japanese rock and rose gardens.
The interactive Children's Garden has play areas designed to teach children about plants. Tropical, Mediterranean, desert and endangered plants grow in the Fuqua Conservatory. The rain forest room is populated with turtles, tropical birds and exhibits of poison dart frogs. The Fuqua Orchid Center houses rare orchids from around the world. Special events are held throughout the year.
