Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art
AAA Editor Notes
Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, 506 Telfair St., is a handsome three-story Federal-style house built by Georgia legislator Nicholas Ware in 1818. Because of its huge cost of $40,000, the structure was known as “Ware's Folly.” Works by local and nationally known contemporary artists are displayed.
